Pelosi introduces Bill

Oct. 28, 2009-This morning the House of Representatives unveiled their “Affordable Health Care for America Act” on the west lawn of the Capitol in Washington, D.C. Speakers included Nancy Pelosi, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, Rep. John Dingell (D-MI), who pioneered the bill and Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-NH) among many others.  Pretty exciting stuff.

A leash is a leash is a leash—right? That’s what I thought until I tried Planet Dog’s hemp version of the old dog-tie. Planet Dog’s leash is literally, perfect. It’s the perfect length—about width of a Boulder sidewalk, the perfect weight—not too heavy or light, and has the perfect handle—fleece-lined and sturdy.

Sustainable homes take over D.C.’s National Mall—it’s the 2009 Solar Decathlon!

Eco-homes are taking over the National Mall! Between the Capitol and the Washington Monument, the 2009 Solar Decathlon is in full swing, and solar-powered, sustainable houses are going up like crazy. Team Boston’s Curio House is just one of the runners in this year’s Solar Decathlon, a bi-ennial competition of exclusively solar-powered, efficient, eco-houses taking place in Washington, D.C. Some of these unique $$ and planet-saving homes are even for sale. Team Boston’s creation, Curio House, just sold for $300,000. The competition ends this Friday, Oct. 16th, so stay tuned for the results!
