Last week I went to Joe’s Valley, Utah, to write a profile on Daniel Woods for Urban Climber. The weather sucked, there were no motel rooms for at least 100 miles in any direction, but it was a great crew and we had a blast. It’s all about the people you hang with! Here are some photos of Courtney Sanders, beast of a young climber-ess with an awe-inspiring determination to fight for the top.

My good friend Robin Puro – a talented rock climber, chef and writer – recently interviewed me about food. In her newest writing project, Robin asks 10 cuisine-related questions to average people and compiles them on her blog - t4three, dedicated to all things delicious. I’m honored to be the first!
How does food fit into other people’s lives? In the profile series, Tea for Three will showcase short interviews with a wide variety of random folk to get a glimpse of their mind, their stomach, and what the two have to say to one another.

I just wrote and shot a little story called 24 hours in Bozeman for venturethere.com, a blog I’ve been writing for recently. Please check it out!
Bozeman, Montana, is a remote yet posh town where city culture meets old west. This small town of 40,000 is a rarified blend of entrepreneurs and philanthropists, artists and students, wanna-be cowboys and the real thing. Situated in a relatively lush valley, Bozeman’s gorgeous weather, enviable snowfall and proximity to Yellowstone in addition to nearby mountain ranges, draw a diverse crowd that loves to play in the mountains, eat good food and relax in style at the end of the day. The best thing about having a blog is there’s no space limit. You have all the freedom in the virtual world to blab for, like, ever. It’s one of the few things the internet does better than print. So, why not? I recently wrote a Drive profile on Jamie Emerson for Urban Climber, and did WAY too much work (typical) knowing it would be cut. But I couldn’t help it. I had so much fun interviewing Jamie, hearing his take on climbing, ethics and life, I wanted to write something creative that showed his personality in a deeper way. Sure climbing’s important, but I’m way more interested in what makes people tick, and understanding the personality traits that shape their lives and obsessions. So…since I did all this work, I decided to post the extended interview here. Enjoy! Read more…
