Just posted the Climbing Winter Lust List on Venture There…
If you’re a climber, winter can really suck. Even for the mlldly-addicted, the short cold days provide perfectly frustrating opportunities to fantasize about climbing on real rock in the sun. For most climbers, winter usually means at least one of the following: A. Time to distract yourself with other sports, like ice climbing, which, let’s face it, is just not the same. B. Some serious gym time. When the sun sets at 4:30, it’s time to spring for a gym membership, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, and often it’s a necessity for staying sane. Gyms are big play grounds that keep you in shape for spring so you can send when the warmer weather hits. C. Time to buy a plane ticket. Think Thailand, Greece, Hueco Tanks, St. George, Vegas, really anywhere there’s sunny, dry rock. Consider those options, and in the meantime, there’s the Climbing Winter Lust List, which features the latest lust-worthy gear from harnesses to headlamps, and everything in between. All the equipment you’ll need to fuel your winter gym sessions, your next climbing vacation, or satisfy your inner gear-aholic.
